New print fully available again!
Welcome, you've come to the place where Calvin and Hobbes® once were honored with a great tribute and fan-site, "Calvin and Hobbes at Martijn's". Unfortunately the copyright owners didn't agree with that and made me shutdown the entire site. The biggest success of the site was the Calvin and Hobbes Strip Search, which received thousands of visitors every single day.
I want to thank for all your visits and nice comments. I've received hundreds of emails because of this shutdown; thanks for all the nice comments! It would take way too much time to reply to all of them, so don't think I don't read them. I've read every single one of them and appreciate your comments.
If you want, you can send me an email as well.

If you want to have all strips, but not all books (i.e. the least amount of books, but have every single strip) then you need to buy this list of books:
Of course you could also buy "The Complete Calvin and Hobbes" listed above!
Calvin and Hobbes is copyright © Bill Watterson and Universal Press Syndicate. Calvin and Hobbes are registered trademarks of Bill Watterson and Universal Press Syndicate.
Bill Watterson about it: "At the time, I thought it was important to
establish how Calvin and Hobbes got together, but now I think this was
unnecessary. Of course, when Calvin and Hobbes started, it appeared in
about thirty-five newspapers, so not many people saw the first strip
anyway. My hometown paper didn't pick up the strip for several months,
so I didn't see this strip in the newspaper either. This is one reason
I've been grateful for the book collections."
This is the last strip that appeared in the news-papers, on December 31,
1995. (Click image to see full scale version)
Bill Watterson said he was quitting because he wanted to seek new
challenges. His life existed almost only of Calvin and Hobbes the last ten
years, and he thought it had been enough by then. When he retired he
said that he didn't like making comics for the newspaper anymore because
of the deadlines and the restrictions he had (size, color). Rumors say
he will start making Calvin and Hobbes strips again, but only in books.
Unprinted Calvin and Hobbes strip
NEW! The following strip was never published
in the C&H books. It was printed in some newspapers on 11/28/85, but in the
books, a replacement strip was printed. Thanks to Chris Anderson, who sent
me a copy of the unpublished strip, it's now on this site! Very few people
will know this strip. Click
here to view it.
I decided to change the setup of this section a little. Now what does this mean?
First, all strips that were in this section are gone. Instead a complete new set of strips will appear on this site, little by little. The first new section is
below. Have fun and naturally you can mail me any suggestions for new strips.
The first new set of strips come from the Lazy Sunday Book. This book is a
collection of sunday comics. Some of the best are below. The book can be
bought online at Amazon.com.
The Calvin and Hobbes comic strips are temporarily offline. Some new ones will be placed back online very soon!
