The Complete Calvin and Hobbes
New print fully available again!
Welcome, you've come to the place where Calvin and Hobbes® once were honored with a great tribute and fan-site, "Calvin and Hobbes at Martijn's". Unfortunately the copyright owners didn't agree with that and made me shutdown the entire site. The biggest success of the site was the Calvin and Hobbes Strip Search, which received thousands of visitors every single day.
I want to thank for all your visits and nice comments. I've received hundreds of emails because of this shutdown; thanks for all the nice comments! It would take way too much time to reply to all of them, so don't think I don't read them. I've read every single one of them and appreciate your comments.
If you want, you can send me an email as well.

For completeness, here's a list of all available Calvin and Hobbes® books, with direct links to buy them.

If you want to have all strips, but not all books (i.e. the least amount of books, but have every single strip) then you need to buy this list of books:
Of course you could also buy "The Complete Calvin and Hobbes" listed above!
Calvin and Hobbes is copyright © Bill Watterson and Universal Press Syndicate. Calvin and Hobbes are registered trademarks of Bill Watterson and Universal Press Syndicate.
This section contains some drawings of Bill Watterson besides
the strips in the comics section. It contains Bill's notepaper, a political
drawing from him and pictures of the only legal merchandise ever: the 16 month
calendar.
Some pictures feature the 'art' Bill has added as an extra to his books (to be added soon!). And
the last pictures on this page are from tributes to Bill's comic, drawn by
other artists.
One example of Bill's own art can be seen above. The dinosaurs painting is painted by him and is printed on the back of the Lazy Sunday Book.
Bill Wattersons Notepaper
Calvin and Hobbes fan from France, Alain Clément, has sent Bill Watterson a letter
in the early 1990's. He was glad to receive a personal letter from Bill back. The letter Bill
sent is below, together with a picture of the envelope the letter was sent in. Click on the
links to view the images.

Very rare: these are the fronts of the only legal items EVER sold besides the books.
These are truly collectors items! Most people don't know there was anything legal for sale.
The t-shirts and bumperstickers you occasionally see are all illegal.
It was sent to me by Alain Clément, who also sent me the notepaper above.
Some more pictures of it will appear on this site soon.

Update: an other Calvin and Hobbes fan has sent me a picture of the other calendar.
It has been confirmed by someone from United Press Syndicate that these two items
are (the only) legal items.

Calvin and Hobbes Polls illustrations
In the late eighties, Bill Watterson has drawn some special Calvin and Hobbes pictures for the results of comics popularity polls. Of course Calvin and Hobbes ended up being number one on these polls
. Two of these drawings were sent in by Alain from France. These are never seen before on the internet!

Bill Watterson self portraits
Over the years, Bill Watterson has drawn various self portraits. Most of them were published in comic magazines and newspapers. Thanks to the great website of one of the members at the forum of Calvin and Hobbes at Martijn's, Ignatz, below are some examples. It's fun to see that most of them are very funny, and of course very well drawn. It's nice to see that Bill Watterson is not afraid to make fun of himself
.

Liberty Meadows tribute
First week of August 2000, a sunday comic of Liberty Meadows was
published, which was a tribute to Bill Watterson, drawn by Frank Cho.
He has redrawn a well known scene from Calvin and Hobbes and the resemblance
is amazing.
Thanks to Adam for telling me.
